The countdown to November 17 is on and lots of excitement is brewing on the pathways to Prince Albert.  From Sri Lanka, Dananjaya Hettiarachchi will be coaching us on quality leadership in his Saturday morning keynote.  After his 2014 win in the World Championship of Public Speaking, Dananjaya has soared to be one of the highest-ranking speakers in the world.  This could easily be a once in a lifetime experience so don’t miss it.

Ryan Falkenberg, DTM

Throughout Falkenberg’s life he has been in search for the answers to 3 specific questions: What makes a champion successful? How are they able to achieve massive results? What are they doing differently?

Not only is he willing to involve himself in roles and activities for numerous organizations but he has also become an elite speaker. Winning speech contests, club Toastmaster of the Year awards and taking on advanced leadership roles, Ryan has recently achieved his DTM.

 

Omar Nef

Omar Nef was born and raised in South America. In 2008, he came to Canada on a 6-month work assignment. He calls this time “the longest six months of my life!”

At age 11, his childhood in Chile was dramatically changed when his parents immigrated to Brazil. This was his first immigration and Omar experienced the challenges of learning and adapting to a new language and culture. In 1990, he graduated as a Mechanical Engineer, however most of his 27 year-career has been forming and leading teams. Entrepreneurship, non-profit organizations, human resources, safety, project engineering, and supply chain are some areas where Omar has led people and managed resources. In 2010, he joined and attended Toastmasters for one year to overcome his fear of speaking English, his third language. He returned to Toastmasters in 2014 to practice his leadership and organizational skills. Omar has held several positions within Toastmasters – VP of Education, VP of Membership, and he is currently the VP Public Relations for Chatterpillars club in West Edmonton. In 2016, Omar started to deliver training to large Toastmasters Officer audiences with great success and feedback. His charisma, passion and energy are gifts for those who have shared time with him.

 

In the “Dynamic Leader … Dynamic Future” session Omar Nef will explain the key skills to become a dynamic leader and how a dynamic leader can impact the future of her/his organization. We live in a dynamic world and we are facing dramatic changes that are transforming our way of living and communicating. Technology and communication are constantly evolving and leveling our societies and countries. The leaders who adapt and get acquainted with these changes can lead their organization on how to keep up with the dynamic world. They are truly a dynamic leader. Omar will interact with throughout the session. Omar will explain the importance of inspiration as well as how the 5 second rule can change your life and help you become a dynamic leader.
