January 28th, 2016 saw a large contingent of club leaders attend a training event sponsored by the Edmonton Advanced Toastmasters Club. Organizers had a packed program of leadership sessions that kicked off with a keynote from Kuen Tang ACB, CL on Redefining Impossible.
Organizer, Marg Faryna followed that with a presentation centered on “Building on Achievement”.
The event was very well attended. Sessions dealt with issues such as “Handling Difficult Situations” with Teresa Young DTM, “Using Social Media” with Glenda Sheard DTM, “Organizing a Speech Contest” with Jenafor Andel DTM and “Judges Training” with Glynn Williams DTM and Rick Lebeuf DTM.
Sessions were provided for each of the club officer positions to give them a chance to interact with their counterparts and learn from an experienced session leader. It was a jam packed day with lots of information to take back to clubs.
It should be noted that the PCL Chatters and their sponsoring company PCL Construction were very gracious hosts providing us an excellent facility with all the amenities to make providing quality training sessions an easy accomplishment. We appreciate the work that went into hosting this event at your facility. We thank you for your support of the Toastmasters program at your company.
