Every year, Toastmasters clubs around the world help young people discover their voice through the Youth Leadership Program (YLP)—a short, high-impact workshop series that introduces students to the fundamentals of confident communication and leadership.

This year, District 99 has received several inquiries from parents, educators, and youth organizations eager to participate—but right now, no clubs in our District are currently hosting. That means there’s an exciting opportunity waiting for you.

Why Should Your Club Host a YLP?

Hosting a Youth Leadership Program is one of the most rewarding ways to serve your community and grow your club’s visibility.

  • Make a difference: Help youth build self-esteem, teamwork, and communication skills that will serve them for life.

  • Grow local awareness: Partnering with schools, libraries, or youth groups shines a positive spotlight on your club and on Toastmasters.

  • Develop leadership experience: Members gain valuable facilitation and mentoring practice—perfect for Pathways projects or Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) requirements.

What Benefits Will Your Club Receive?

  • Community visibility: Clubs that host YLPs often attract new adult members—parents, teachers, and mentors who see the impact first-hand.

  • Leadership credit: Coordinating a YLP can count as a district-sponsored project toward advanced leadership and Pathways goals.

    • Access to the official YLP Coordinator’s Guide and participant manuals.

    • Step-by-step mentoring from experienced coordinators.

    • District PR support to help promote your sessions through schools and community partners.

Positive PR: Your club’s story can be featured in local media and future District newsletters—demonstrating Toastmasters’ community impact.
