It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Linda Rose Holmevik (née McKay), a long-time member of Woodland Communicators club and 2022/23 President of the Year for District 99, on August 13, 2025, at Rose Garden Hospice in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
Linda was born on April 4, 1953, in Leask, SK, and spent her life building community through her many roles—hairdresser, photographer, funeral celebrant, and passionate Toastmaster. She gave generously of her time and talents, serving as a leader and mentor within District 99. Many members will remember her warmth, encouragement, and dedication to helping others grow in confidence and communication.
Beyond Toastmasters, Linda’s most cherished roles were those of mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She shared over 50 years of marriage with her husband Roger, and her family was the centre of her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Prince Albert, with a livestream available here.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rose Garden Hospice or Ovarian Cancer Canada.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Roger and the Holmevik family. Linda’s legacy of kindness, leadership, and service will be fondly remembered throughout District 99.
